Kind Words SLP knows how important it is to hear your child communicate not only their basic wants & needs, but sweeter phrases like "I love you!" Our goal is to provide each individual, as well as parents and caregivers, the speech therapy tools needed to overcome communication obstacles in the individual's daily living, and a way to share their Kind Words.

Meet the SLP

Mindy Otte, MS CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist

A Nebraska licensed and American Speech-language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified speech language-pathologist (SLP) who is dedicated to learning and growing to meet the needs of children with diverse communicative disorders. Miss Mindy has over 18 years of experience serving children from Birth through Adult Transition programs. This experience extends to working in general education and autism-focused classrooms, and working with clients in their homes or in hospital settings. She is passionate about finding ways to most appropriately address children's needs — especially related to speech, language, and social development.

Services

Kind Words SLP, LLC offers screenings, evaluations, and therapy for speech and/or language skills. These services are primarily provided locally, in the comfort of your own home. Based upon the client’s needs, services may also be provided in other settings, such as at daycare or preschool locations.

Consultation - Free

Do you have questions regarding your child’s speech or language? Talk to a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.

This initial phone call explores any areas of concern and determines if any additional services are necessary.

Evaluation

A comprehensive look into your child’s current speech and language abilities. Each evaluation includes a comprehensive written report, scoring of standardized assessments, recommendations, and therapy goals. Prior to starting services, an evaluation is required. However, if you have a current evaluation report from school or another provider, we may be able to use this as a baseline to begin services.

Therapy

Therapy services provided for clients based on treatment goals determined by the evaluation.This is where we play! Our speech therapy sessions are client-directed and we use every available opportunity to elicit speech and language skills. We conclude each session by reviewing progress and providing strategies to use in between sessions.

Private Pay

Kind Words SLP, LLC does not currently contract with any insurance companies, meaning all services are self-pay. Keeping this practice small and self-pay allows us to provide highly personalized services for each individual without limitations given by insurance.

We also provide superbills for clients that wish to submit claims to their insurance companies.

If we are Out-of-Network with your insurance carrier, our services may still be eligible for reimbursement. To find out if our services are covered by your insurance company, here are some questions you will want to have ready when you call them. 1) Do I have out-of-network speech therapy benefits? 2) Am I eligible to receive direct reimbursement from the insurance company for my speech therapy visits? 3) What percentage of the money I paid at my speech therapy visit will you reimburse? 4) Do I have an out-of-network deductible to meet before I receive reimbursement?
